The Brussels Capital Region is not an urban island surrounded by vast vistas of wheat fields and meadows populated with Brabantine draft horses. The ring road (R0) and its ramifications have left an unmistakable bitumen mark on the area. The ideal breeding ground for a suburbia four times larger than the metropolis.
